Moinho de Vento da Serra de Janeanes is a charming traditional windmill located in the hills near Condeixa-a-Nova, in central Portugal. Surrounded by beautiful rural landscapes, it combines local heritage, peaceful nature and panoramic countryside views. This historic windmill is a reminder of Portugal's agricultural traditions, when wind power was used to grind grain into flour. Its elevated position on Serra de Janeanes takes advantage of the winds that sweep across the surrounding hills. We visited this beautiful location during our Bike Universe group cycling tour on October 25, 2026, following a scenic route from Soure through Alfarelos, the ancient Roman ruins of Conímbriga and other historic landmarks.
