Cookie Policy

Last updated: 23 September 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Bike Universe uses cookies, local storage and similar technologies when you use our website and community platform.

1. Who We Are

Bike Universe is an independent cycling community project operated from Portugal.

If you have questions about this Cookie Policy, contact us at support@bikeuniverse.xyz.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small pieces of information that websites may store in your browser. Similar browser technologies, including local storage, can also be used to remember settings and choices.

Bike Universe uses these technologies for site functionality and, with your consent, for analytics and advertising measurement.

3. Necessary Storage

Some browser storage is necessary to provide functionality and remember choices made on Bike Universe. This may include authentication-related information, session information and settings required for the platform to operate correctly.

We also use local storage to remember your cookie preference. The current consent choice is stored under the key bu:cookie-consent so that we do not need to ask for the same choice on every page visit.

4. Optional Analytics and Advertising Technologies

If you select Accept all, Bike Universe loads Google technologies used for analytics and advertising/conversion measurement.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use Bike Universe, such as how the platform is accessed and how users interact with it. This information helps us understand usage and improve the service.

Google Ads and Conversion Measurement

We use Google advertising and conversion measurement technologies to measure the effectiveness of advertising and understand whether advertising activity leads to visits or other relevant interactions with Bike Universe.

These optional Google technologies are not loaded by our cookie consent component unless you choose Accept all.

5. Your Cookie Choices

When no cookie preference has previously been saved, Bike Universe displays a cookie consent notice with two choices:

You can reopen the consent controls at any time by selecting Cookie settings in the footer of Bike Universe and change your choice.

6. Third-Party Services

When optional Google technologies are enabled, information may be processed by Google in accordance with its own privacy and data protection practices.

Bike Universe also uses third-party infrastructure and services such as Supabase, Vercel and Stripe. These services may use technical storage or similar technologies where necessary to provide their functionality, security, authentication, hosting or payment services.

7. How Long Preferences Are Stored

Your Bike Universe cookie preference remains in your browser's local storage until it is changed or removed, for example by changing your cookie choice or clearing browser data.

Cookies or similar technologies set by third-party services may have their own retention periods determined by those providers.

8. Browser Controls

Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies and other stored website data through browser settings. Blocking necessary storage may affect the operation of some Bike Universe features.

9. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies, analytics, advertising technologies or other relevant services changes. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
